Alum, also known as Aluminium Sulfate, is a widely used chemical in swimming pool water treatment for coagulation and clarification. It acts as a powerful coagulant, helping to bind and remove suspended particles, dirt, and impurities from the water, resulting in clearer, cleaner, and healthier pool water.
Due to its excellent flocculating properties, Alum accelerates the settling of fine particles by clumping them together into larger aggregates, which can then be easily filtered out or vacuumed.
